Golf Swing Grip
There are three types of Golf Swing Grips – basically known as the Vardon Grip and the adapted Vardon Grip, a well as the Baseball Grip.
Vardon Grip is an invention of English player Harry Vardon, which by far remains most commonly used grip, promoting a sort of neutral pressure on the club.
The grip is achieved through the hands getting together by overlying on the right hand’s little finger with the left hand, and placing the little finger within the gap between your index finger and the left hand’s next finger.
It grip encourages of using both the hands together, instead of independently, all the way through the swing.
However this Golf Swing Grip may not work for the amateurs or those who do not have strength enough to bring it into play.
For such people an adapted Vardon Grip was introduced by some professionals like Greg Norman and Jack Nicklaus.
This Golf Swing Grip involves interweaving instead of overlying the right hand’s little finger left hand’s with the index finger.
This grip is especially useful when are playing with a slice or your striking is weak, since this grip allows easier release of the club from the right hand through impact.
The interweaving of little finger helps you with a felling of enhanced security between both the hands, and there is freer release with the right hand.
This Golf Swing Grip can be considered more appropriate for players struggling for getting freer release through impact.
Another Golf Swing Grip known as the Volleyball grip doesn’t involve any overlapping of finger, and the grip is simple with bringing both the hands fully on the clubs grip. Two hands are independently allowed to rest on the club.
The grip can bring lots of strength to right hand, but the disadvantage with this grip is that both the hands can work on their own, which is not desirable while bringing uniformity in your swing.
Some ace golfers like Ronan Rafferty and Moe Normal, known as the eccentric Canadian, who is considered as one of the best ball players of all time, have been using this volleyball grip.
This Golf Swing Grip can be played extremely well to the benefit of players who wants to do away with slice, helping a draw.
This grip is recommended for beginners and younger players and lady players who may lack sufficient stamina to play with the traditional neutral Vardon grip.
While all the three types of Golf Swing Grips are used by players throughout the world, these all account to get the best swing and striking power.
Only when you lack sufficient strength, and are unable to execute the shots effectively, the Volleyball Grip is considered which again is left to the option of players, though coaches determine the type of grip suitable to the players and give training to the players.
